✓ Step 4. Practice driving with a parents/guardian for 50 hours (10 at night).
✓ Step 5. After... your 16th birthday, you've completed all 6 hours of driving lessons, and you've had your instructional permit for six months, you can take the road test at the DMV.

When you get ticketed in California, you can pay the full citation fine and let your DMV record suffer for three years OR attend a traffic school class. Our online class allows you to complete this requirement at your own pace from the comfort of your home. $34.95
2 HOURS OF BEHIND-THE-WHEEL LESSONS
Receive behind-the-wheel driving instruction from a California-licensed driving instructor. Lessons are one-on-one; however, a parent or chaperone is welcome to ride along. Each driving lesson is 2 hours.
Our behind-the-wheel packages are pay-as-you-go. Teens are required to complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel lessons to get their driver's license.
Pick-up and drop-off are included if you live within a 3-mile radius of Tehachapi or Ridgecrest.

Pick-up and drop-off are included if you live outside a 3-mile radius but within a 10-mile radius of Ridgecrest or Tehachapi city limits.

DMV DRIVING TEST - TEHACHAPI TO RIDGECREST
✓ Use of an A1 Driving School commercially insured vehicle for the DMV driving test
✓ Local pick-up/drop-off in Tehachapi City limits (additional fee of $20 per trip or $40 round trip for 3-10 miles outside of city limits)
✓ 1 hour of practice with a licensed driving instructor before the test
The entire trip and driving test will last a total of 4 hours. The driving instructor will drive to and from Tehachapi to Ridgecrest. The practice driving lesson will take place in Ridgecrest.
